Design Your Own Rubber Softfall Colour Blend (Before You Pour)

Design Your Own Rubber Softfall Colour Blend (Before You Pour)

Choosing a colour for rubber softfall from a 2cm swatch is hard. Choosing a blend of three colours from three swatches is harder, and the first time anyone really sees the result is on pour day.

The Bounce Rubber Colour Mixer fixes that. Pick your granules, set the ratios and see a live, 1:1 scale preview of your blend, then view it laid out in a playground before you order a single bag.

What makes it different

Most rubber colour tools are a swatch picker for one product range. This one is built around how blends are actually specified and installed.

  • Mix across granule types. Combine TPV, EPDM and PSBR in the same blend, so you can balance budget and colour in one spec.
  • A real 1:1 scale preview. See granule size and speckle as it would look underfoot, not a flat block of colour.
  • See it from a child's height. Switch the installed view between standing, child height and aerial, in sunny or overcast light.
  • RAL references on TPV colours. Easier to match landscape plans, signage or a school's colours.
  • A spec that's ready to quote. Every blend gets a Mix Spec Ticket with its ratio. Download the PDF, copy the spec, or send it straight to our team with your area (m²) and depth (10–25mm).
  • 10 ready-made blends to start from. Including Coastal Break, Native Bushland, Playground Sunset and Urban Court. Or hit Randomise and see what comes up.

Inspiration from our installs

Every one of these started as a colour decision. Here's a starting mix you can load into the mixer to explore a similar look.

Turquoise and teal rubber softfall with timber logs and boat play feature

Coastal play

Two blues create a shoreline effect around natural timber play, with a warm terracotta path for contrast.

Try this mix: TPV Bondi + TPV Turquoise, with Brick for the path. Or start from the Coastal Break preset.

Colourful rubber softfall playground with yellow, green, blue, grey and orange bands

Bold bands

Flowing stripes of yellow, green, orange and grey turn the surface into part of the play design.

Try this mix: Use the mixer to test each band as its own blend, e.g. TPV Mustard with a little Lemon for a softer yellow.

Speckled blue rubber softfall under shade sails

The speckle up close

Look at the main blue: it's a blend, not a solid. That fleck is exactly what the 1:1 preview shows you before you commit.

Try this mix: TPV Royal as the base, with a smaller share of Bondi and Chalk for sparkle.

Green and aqua rubber softfall park playground with swings and shade sails

Park greens

Soft greens and aqua sit comfortably in a bushland park setting, with clear zones under each piece of equipment.

Try this mix: TPV Lime + Grass, edged in Bondi. The Native Bushland preset is a good place to start.

Yellow, orange and green rubber surface around planters on a rooftop

Rooftop warmth

Sunny yellow and orange blocks with a green border bring energy to a rooftop space.

Try this mix: TPV Mandarin + Flame, or load Playground Sunset and adjust the parts.

Navy blue rubber softfall under school play equipment

Classic school navy

A single deep blue looks clean against grass and red brick, and hides wear well in a busy school yard.

Try this mix: TPV Denim as the base, with a small share of Royal to lift it.

5 tips for a blend that works

  • Stick to 2–3 colours. More than that tends to look muddy rather than vibrant.
  • Pick one dominant base. Then add one or two accents so the blend looks intentional.
  • Keep ratios simple. Halves, thirds or quarters are easiest to measure on site.
  • Go easy on light colours. Binder can amber in sunlight, so whites and creams work best as accents.
  • Check it in both lights. Flip between sunny and overcast in the installed view before you sign off.

Colours in the mixer are a close digital representation of each granule range and may vary slightly from physical samples. If colour is critical, ask us for samples before ordering.
